Welcome to Pothos. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Pothos platform, including our website, matchmaking service, messaging features, and any related services (collectively, the "Service").
By registering for or using Pothos, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Pothos is a boutique international matchmaking service that connects Western men and Asian women who are serious about finding a lasting, meaningful relationship. We are a personal, curated service — not a dating app. Every match is created intentionally by our matchmaker based on compatibility, shared values, and genuine potential.

By registering, you confirm that all information you provide is truthful, accurate, and current. Providing false information — including fake photos, a false identity, or misrepresenting your intentions — is grounds for immediate account termination.
Pothos requires an application before access is granted. Submitting an application does not guarantee approval. We reserve the right to accept or decline any application for any reason, at our sole discretion, without obligation to explain our decision.
Once approved, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You must not share your account with anyone else. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
Pothos provides a personal matchmaking service. This means:
Pothos is not responsible for the conduct of any member outside the platform, or for any relationship that develops (or does not develop) as a result of using the Service.
Pothos uses artificial intelligence in several ways, including:
AI companions are clearly identified as AI. They are not real people. Conversations with AI companions are for practice and orientation purposes only — they are not a substitute for real human connection, and they should not be treated as relationships.
Pothos does not guarantee that AI translations are perfectly accurate. When precision matters, communicate in your shared language or seek independent translation.
Pothos is built on mutual respect. All members — men and women — are held to the same standard. By using the Service, you agree that you will not:
Violation of these conduct standards will result in immediate account suspension or termination. We take the safety and dignity of every member seriously. There are no warnings for serious violations — exploitation, harassment, and deception end your account immediately and permanently.
You are responsible for all content you post on Pothos, including messages, photos, and profile information. By posting content, you represent that:
You grant Pothos a limited license to store and display your content for the purpose of operating the Service. We do not claim ownership of your content and do not use it for any purpose outside of providing the Service to you.
We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or that we determine, at our discretion, is harmful, misleading, or inappropriate.
Membership for women is currently free. Men pay a service fee that is communicated at the time of onboarding and approval.
All fees are clearly stated before payment is collected. By paying, you agree to the fees disclosed at that time.
Refund policy: Because Pothos invests significant personal time in each member relationship — including intake review, matching, and ongoing support — service fees are generally non-refundable. If you believe an exception is warranted, contact us at support@pothos.love and we will review your situation on a case-by-case basis. We are fair people.
Pothos reserves the right to update its pricing at any time. Changes will not affect fees already paid.
By you: You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. Deletion is permanent. Your messages, profile, and personal data will be removed within 30 days.
By us: We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms, if we determine you are not a good fit for the Service, or for any other reason at our discretion. We will not issue refunds in cases of termination due to conduct violations.
Upon termination, your access to the platform ends immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will do so, including Sections 6, 7, 10, 11, and 12.
Pothos is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the Service, including but not limited to:
You use Pothos at your own risk. We encourage you to exercise common sense and good judgment when interacting with anyone you meet through the Service.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Pothos and its founders, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to damages for loss of data, loss of opportunity, or harm arising from interactions with other members.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to Pothos in the six months preceding the claim.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If that fails, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration in Maricopa County, Arizona, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You waive any right to a jury trial or to participate in a class action.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you by email or via a notice on the platform. Your continued use of Pothos after any change constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
